JAKARTA, Jan. 24 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia and Finland on Tuesday agreed to increase ties on trade, investment and energy during talks between Indonesian Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa and his Finish counterpart Alexander Stubb.

Stubb visited Indonesia accompanied by 24 Finish companies focusing on energy; information, communication and technology; forestry; industry and manufacture, among others.

Both ministers highlighted the importance of cooperation in renewable energy in the Energy and Environment Partnership (EEP) of Indonesia and Finland in which a partnership agreement was signed in Jakarta on Feb. 14, 2011.

Natalegawa also stressed the importance of Finland's participation in supporting Indonesia's program named the Master Plan of Acceleration and Expansion on Indonesia's Economic Development (MP3EI).

Aside of bilateral issues, both ministers also discussed regional ones.

Natalegawa told his counterpart about regional latest issues such as results gained during Indonesia's chairmanship on ASEAN in 2011, the latest development of European Union-ASEAN relations and others.

On the other side, Stubb told Natalegawa about the latest development in Europe, especially about financial crisis.

Stubb said that as a small and export-dependent country, his country is vulnerable against crisis in euro zone.

"That's why we have to increase cooperation with other countries, such as Indonesia, not only because Indonesia has an economic strong growth, but because Indonesia is a member of G20," said Stubb.

Both ministers also discussed international security issues, especially on the world's peacekeeping mission and conflict settlement through mediation.

During January-October 2011, both countries recorded total trade volume of 561.75 million U.S. dollars from 401.49 million dollars from the same period 2010.
